Let it Snow!
These photos were taken at the Vance Birthplace Historic Site and near the Blue Ridge Parkway on December 19, 2003, about ten miles northeast of Asheville. Since the Parkway is closed during any winter weather, it is a great place to hike in the snow or cross country ski. Many times, you will find snow at higher elevations when there is little or no snow in Asheville. On this day, there was less than one inch of snow in Asheville and more than eight inches of snow ten miles away.
